DOCTOR: How's Jimmy today?
醫(yī) 生：吉米今天怎么樣了?
MRS WILLIAMS: He's better , thank you, doctor.
威廉斯夫人：他好些了。謝謝您，醫(yī)生。
DOCTOR: Can I see him please, Mrs Williams?
醫(yī) 生：我可以看看他嗎，威廉斯夫人?
MRS WILLIAMS: Certainly, doctor. Come upstairs.
威廉斯夫人：當(dāng)然可以，醫(yī)生。上樓吧。
DOCTOR: You look very well, Jimmy. You are better now, but you mustn't get up yet.
醫(yī) 生：你看上去很好，吉米。你現(xiàn)在好些了，但你還不應(yīng)該起床。
You must stay in bed for another two days.

DOCTOR: The boy mustn't go to school yet, Mrs Williams. And he mustn't eat rich food.

Mrs Williams: Does he have a temperature, doctor?
威廉斯夫人：他還發(fā)燒嗎，醫(yī)生?
Doctor: No, he doesn’t.

MRS WILLIAMS: Must he stay in bed?
威廉斯夫人：他還必須臥床嗎?
DOCTOR: Yes. He must remain in bed for another two days.
醫(yī) 生：是的，他還必須臥床兩天。
He can get up for about two hours each day, but you must keep the room warm.
他每天可以起來(lái)兩個(gè)小時(shí)，但您必須保持房間溫暖。
DOCTOR: Where's Mr Williams this evening?

MRS WILLIAMS: He's in bed, doctor. Can you see him, please? He has a bad cold, too!

在英文中，如果將一個(gè)人或物等與另一個(gè)人或物等進(jìn)行比較，就可以用比較級(jí)。在這句話(huà)中，威廉斯夫人是把吉米今天的狀況和前幾天相比。形容詞well的比較級(jí)形式不規(guī)則，意思是“健康狀祝有所好轉(zhuǎn)”。
2 come upstairs 上樓，此處upstairs是副詞。
3 …you mustn't get up yet.
yet這個(gè)詞一般用于否定句。get up表示起床，在英語(yǔ)中有不少動(dòng)詞常與介詞或副詞連用，組成一個(gè)詞組，稱(chēng)為動(dòng)詞短語(yǔ)，如get up就是一個(gè)動(dòng)詞短語(yǔ)。
4 for another two days
for引一導(dǎo)的.表示時(shí)間的短語(yǔ)往往可以譯作“達(dá)”，“計(jì)”。本課中for about two hours each day可譯為“每天可達(dá)兩小時(shí)”。each day是“每天”的意思。
5 keep the room warm.使房間保持暖和。

2.make a noise, 搞出聲響。
noise是抽象名詞。抽象名詞是不可數(shù)的，前面加不定冠詞a并不意味1、2、3、4等數(shù)目，只是賦予那個(gè)名詞具體的含義，如一次、一種、一例、一番等。又如：

3.lean out of the window, 把身子探出窗外。
out of是介詞短語(yǔ)，與 in或 into相對(duì)，表示"離開(kāi)"、"脫離"。

don't與mustn't都可用來(lái)表示禁令。用mustn't表示"禁止"或"不許可"，語(yǔ)氣比較強(qiáng)烈。例如：

1.keep v.
(1)使保持某狀態(tài);保持：
Keep the room warm.
使房間保持溫暖。
Keep the fire burning.
不要讓火熄滅了。
(2)保存;保留：
He would not be able to keep his job.
他恐怕保不住他那份工作了。
If you like it, just keep it.
你如果喜歡的話(huà)，那把它留下來(lái)吧。
(3)保守;儲(chǔ)藏：
Please keep this secret.
請(qǐng)保守這一秘密。
Would you keep my things for me while I'm away?
在我離開(kāi)的這段時(shí)間里，你能為我保管一下東西嗎?
2.remain v.
(1)留下;停留：
You'd better remain at home.
你最好留在家里。
We're going to remain in Rome for another two days.
我們準(zhǔn)備再在羅馬逗留兩天。
(2)保持不變：
It will remain cold for a couple of days.
天氣還將持續(xù)冷幾天。
Most people remained silent at the meeting.
