Job seekers frequently ponder whether or not resumes require career objectives. According to career website Alec.co.uk, job candidates should use objectives when applying for a particular job. The objective appears as a short, powerful statement that includes the name of the position. If you plan to apply for more than one job with a single employer, it's best to leave off the objective. For customer service positions, your objective should tell the employer why you want the job, highlighting your experience and education.
Just Starting Out
If you just graduated and trying to launch your career, your objective should focus on your recent education and your interest in the field. For example, you could write, "Entry-level customer service position bringing a recent bachelor's degree in business as well as excellent people skills garnered from my position as a membership coordinator for my university's Community Cares Club."
