At the first day of New Year, I was so excited that I got up very early in the morning. But Mother was earlier than me, and she had gotten the breakfast ready.
Dumplings, thats my favourite. After the wonderful breakfast, I left home with my parents to visit our relatives.
On the way, I said "Happy New Year" to everyone that I met and they all said that back to me. Everyone is happy and friendly.
In my relatives house, they prepared many sweets and snacks for visitors.
They are all very delicious. The more exciting thing was that I got some money from my relatives. I had a fine day in my relatives family.
My first day of New Year was very happy. It was a good start, and I would try my best to make this happiness last for the whole year.
新年的由來
Legendhas it that in ancient China, there was amonster named Nian, whose head swelled with tentacles and was extremely fierce. Nian lived deep under the sea for many years and climbed ashore every New Years Eve. When the Spring Festivalis coming, Nian will go ashore and eat people in the village. Therefore, human beings are also very afraid of it. Children cry. As long as their mother says "the yearhas come", the children are too scared to cry.
Seeing in the eyes and anxious in their hearts, the immortals in the sky sent a great fairy to descendto the earth, killing demons and reducing demons to help the people. One day before New Years Eve, every family fled to the mountains to take refuge. An old woman was old and ran slowly. When she ran away, she accidentally knocked over an old man. The firecrackers made a crackling noise and opened his mouth and laughed at her. When Nian saw it, he jumped into the sea and never daredto come out again. It turns out that Nian is most afraid of red and scratching sounds. Three days later, the villagers returned to the village and found that the house had not been overthrown by Nian. The old woman suddenly realized that she quickly told the villagers about the old man.
When the villagers heard it, they all went to the old womans house to see it. It turned out that the old man was a fairy in the sky. There are three magic weapons for the elderly to treat "Nian": red couplets, firecrackers and red robes. In the second year, people tried to use these three magic weapons, but Nian didnot come.
Later, in orderto commemorate the old fairy, people designated December 30th of the lunar calendar as the New Year, also known as Spring Festival.
