首先是要端正學(xué)習(xí)態(tài)度。要做到勤學(xué)苦練、持之以恒。學(xué)英語(yǔ)沒(méi)有捷徑可走，要想學(xué)好英語(yǔ)，達(dá)到運(yùn)用自如的程度，非下苦功夫不可。下苦功夫就是要進(jìn)行大量的聽(tīng)、說(shuō)、讀、寫(xiě)訓(xùn)練，使各項(xiàng)技能達(dá)到純熟的地步。語(yǔ)言知識(shí)應(yīng)該了解，但不下苦功在聽(tīng)、說(shuō)、讀、寫(xiě)上練習(xí)，僅靠死記硬背一些孤立的單詞、一些語(yǔ)法條例，是很難掌握英語(yǔ)這一交際工具的。應(yīng)該是LearningEnglish而不是LearningaboutEnglish。就像學(xué)游泳、跳芭蕾舞一樣，理論掌握得再好，不通過(guò)反復(fù)訓(xùn)練是永遠(yuǎn)也學(xué)不會(huì)的。學(xué)習(xí)英語(yǔ)既然是練功夫的過(guò)程，就并不是那么輕松。要不怕困難，堅(jiān)持學(xué)習(xí)。學(xué)如逆水行舟，不進(jìn)則退，最忌“三天打魚(yú)，兩天曬網(wǎng)”。要日積月累，付出長(zhǎng)期的努力。人貴有志，學(xué)貴有恒。
第二便是要掌握正確的學(xué)習(xí)方法。關(guān)于英語(yǔ)學(xué)習(xí)方法，相信同學(xué)們從老師、家長(zhǎng)和其他的途徑都有此了解。無(wú)非就是分課上和課下兩個(gè)部分。課堂上要認(rèn)真聽(tīng)講，思維跟著老師轉(zhuǎn)，并且做好筆記。特別是老師強(qiáng)調(diào)的重要知識(shí)點(diǎn)，一定要記牢。課堂練習(xí)要認(rèn)真完成。同時(shí)很重要的一點(diǎn)就是要舉手發(fā)言，敢于表達(dá)。總之，上課時(shí)要做到耳聽(tīng)、眼觀、嘴動(dòng)、腦想，調(diào)動(dòng)起多個(gè)感官來(lái)。課下要復(fù)習(xí)老師上課講的內(nèi)容，不懂的地方及時(shí)找出來(lái)，問(wèn)老師或者是同學(xué)；課后作業(yè)要認(rèn)真對(duì)待，這是檢查自己學(xué)習(xí)成果的一個(gè)途徑，一定不能馬虎。不能夠當(dāng)天不完成，第二天早上一來(lái)隨便找個(gè)跟自己水平差不多的人的作業(yè)胡亂一抄就完事，這樣只會(huì)百害而無(wú)一利；然后就要復(fù)習(xí)下一節(jié)課將要學(xué)的內(nèi)容，盡量先將單詞和句子的意思都弄清楚，不會(huì)的`可以做上記號(hào)，下節(jié)課時(shí)聽(tīng)老師講，再來(lái)了解這一課的相關(guān)語(yǔ)法和文化背景。
另外，語(yǔ)音是學(xué)習(xí)英語(yǔ)的第一關(guān)。不掌握正確的發(fā)音，就不敢大聲朗讀和對(duì)話，句子不能上口，后續(xù)的訓(xùn)練就難以進(jìn)行。所以一定要多跟著磁帶朗讀，大膽實(shí)踐，反復(fù)模仿，對(duì)比糾正。
如果以上所提到的幾步方法同學(xué)們能夠落實(shí)到位，那么英語(yǔ)成績(jī)就多多少少會(huì)有些許的進(jìn)步的。

五、 “口到”。學(xué)習(xí)語(yǔ)言，不張嘴不動(dòng)口是學(xué)不好的，同學(xué)們最大的毛病是讀書(shū)不出聲，害羞不敢張嘴。尤其是早讀課，同學(xué)們只是用眼看或默讀，這樣就只有視覺(jué)信息，而沒(méi)有聽(tīng)覺(jué)信息在大腦里的反饋，當(dāng)然記憶也不會(huì)太深刻，口部肌肉也得不到鍛煉，也就很難練就一口純正的英語(yǔ)。所以，要充分利用早晨頭腦清醒的時(shí)間，大聲朗讀；課堂上要勇躍回答老師提問(wèn)、積極參與同學(xué)間討論和辯論，課下對(duì)不清楚的問(wèn)題及時(shí)提出，要克服害羞心理，不恥下問(wèn)。對(duì)學(xué)過(guò)的課文要多讀、勤讀、苦讀，可以跟錄音機(jī)讀，竭力模仿其語(yǔ)音語(yǔ)調(diào)以糾正發(fā)音，要讀得抑揚(yáng)頓挫朗朗上口，一些精典文章最好能背得滾爪爛熟。利用一切可能的機(jī)會(huì)，練習(xí)英語(yǔ)口語(yǔ)，比如，與外教交流、參加“英語(yǔ)角”活動(dòng)、與同學(xué)進(jìn)行對(duì)話、講英語(yǔ)故事、唱英文歌曲、演英語(yǔ)短劇、進(jìn)行詩(shī)歌朗誦等。除了對(duì)課本中的范文要細(xì)讀精讀之外，還要多看些適合我們中學(xué)生的課外讀物，既可增長(zhǎng)知識(shí)，又開(kāi)闊了我們的視野，也提高了我們的閱讀水平。學(xué)英語(yǔ)，詞匯的記憶是必不可少的，詞匯是學(xué)好英語(yǔ)的基礎(chǔ)，沒(méi)有了詞匯，也就談不上句子，更談不上文章，所以記單詞對(duì)我們就顯得極其重要。
記憶單詞關(guān)鍵有二：
一是持之以恒：每天堅(jiān)持記憶一定量的詞匯，過(guò)幾天再回頭復(fù)習(xí)一次，這樣周期循環(huán)，反復(fù)記憶，經(jīng)常使用，就會(huì)變短時(shí)記憶為長(zhǎng)時(shí)記憶并牢固掌握。需要注意的是，一旦開(kāi)始，就要堅(jiān)持下來(lái)，千萬(wàn)不能半途而廢，切不可三天打魚(yú)，兩天曬網(wǎng)。
二是良好的記憶方法：記憶單詞的方法很多，學(xué)無(wú)定法，但學(xué)有良法。張思中的“集中識(shí)詞，分類(lèi)記憶”不失為一種適合中學(xué)生的好方法。把中學(xué)生應(yīng)掌握的3500 個(gè)單詞集中匯總，分門(mén)別類(lèi)，先過(guò)單詞關(guān)，然后再學(xué)教材，在課本中使用和鞏固它們的用法。分類(lèi)的方法有多種，同一元音或元音字母組合發(fā)音相同的單詞歸為一類(lèi)；根據(jù)詞形詞性、同義詞反義詞等集中記憶；把相同詞根、前綴、后綴、合成、轉(zhuǎn)化、派生等構(gòu)詞法相同的單詞或詞組列在一起集中識(shí)記印象比較深刻，記憶效果也比較明顯。這樣每天記40—80個(gè)單詞，堅(jiān)持不懈，多聯(lián)想，多思考，多使用，詞匯問(wèn)題不就解決了嗎？在學(xué)習(xí)的過(guò)程中多注視單詞的用法和詞組的搭配，牢記老師講過(guò)的單詞慣用法和句型，這樣不僅有助于我們解題，而且在寫(xiě)作時(shí)也會(huì)信手拈來(lái)，運(yùn)用自如。

掌握了單詞后，我們就應(yīng)該認(rèn)真學(xué)習(xí)語(yǔ)法，畢竟西方的說(shuō)話習(xí)慣，與我們不同，而且表達(dá)的意思也有出入，我們不但要掌握各種句型，更要明白如何運(yùn)用，現(xiàn)在有很多有關(guān)語(yǔ)法的書(shū)籍可以供我們參考，老師上課所講的語(yǔ)法比較少，我們也可以利用時(shí)間多學(xué)一些語(yǔ)法，學(xué)習(xí)語(yǔ)法不但可以讓我們掌握英語(yǔ)說(shuō)話習(xí)慣，也能夠讓我們復(fù)習(xí)鞏固所學(xué)的單詞。對(duì)我們的幫助很大。練習(xí)語(yǔ)法的最好辦法，就是多做題，通過(guò)不同的題型練習(xí)自己的語(yǔ)法熟練度，而且各種語(yǔ)法我們必須要背誦掌握下來(lái)，當(dāng)我們記住的'語(yǔ)法多了，習(xí)慣成自然，就不會(huì)覺(jué)得這些語(yǔ)法難以接受。
在英語(yǔ)考試中聽(tīng)力是鍛煉我們英語(yǔ)溝通能力，如果我們學(xué)習(xí)了英語(yǔ)，卻不會(huì)用英語(yǔ)溝通，而且別人說(shuō)的英語(yǔ)自己也聽(tīng)不懂，那不是等于沒(méi)學(xué)嗎。我們之所以學(xué)習(xí)英語(yǔ)最主要的目的就是為了更好溝通，所以想要練習(xí)自己的聽(tīng)力，我們不但要多聽(tīng)英語(yǔ)磁帶，更要多說(shuō)，要糾正自己的發(fā)音，勤學(xué)苦練中能夠?qū)W到更多。每天不能忘記自己的學(xué)習(xí)任務(wù)，堅(jiān)持學(xué)習(xí)。可以利用早自習(xí)時(shí)間好好練習(xí)。

人生最大的快慰是創(chuàng)造，一件難做的事做成了，一種悶在心里的情感和思想表現(xiàn)出來(lái)了，自己回頭一看，就如同上帝創(chuàng)造了世界�？吹剿�，自己也充分感覺(jué)自己的力量，越發(fā)興起鼓舞。
創(chuàng)作固然不是一種易事，也不是一切不可能的事，只要刻苦學(xué)習(xí)就能成功。剛開(kāi)始，我英語(yǔ)成績(jī)總是不好，于是不喜歡英語(yǔ)�？吹侥强菰锏淖帜�，聽(tīng)到奇怪的發(fā)音便討厭。但是，中國(guó)已走上WTO，英語(yǔ)也是全球通用語(yǔ)言，我不想學(xué)也得學(xué)，便翻開(kāi)英語(yǔ)書(shū)念起來(lái)：“A、B、C、D……唉，不讀了，煩死了！”一本英語(yǔ)書(shū)被我狠狠地扔在地上。不知發(fā)過(guò)多少次誓，希望把期中考試的分?jǐn)?shù)提上去，可又……唉，還是出去走走透透氣吧。我走在街上，漫無(wú)目的.地走來(lái)走去，突然，一個(gè)外國(guó)人走過(guò)來(lái)，向我問(wèn)路，英語(yǔ)一向很差的我就像一個(gè)啞巴說(shuō)不出話來(lái)，感覺(jué)實(shí)在夠難受。我紅著臉走開(kāi)了。接著，我走到一家店，在店里看貨物，過(guò)一會(huì)，一個(gè)白種人也走進(jìn)來(lái)了，他對(duì)售貨員說(shuō)：“I want to have a pen.”售貨員只聽(tīng)到“pen”，她進(jìn)去拿了一個(gè)盆子給這個(gè)外國(guó)人，這個(gè)外國(guó)人笑著招招手……這樣就鬧出了笑話，也讓中國(guó)蒙了羞。經(jīng)過(guò)這次散步，我認(rèn)識(shí)到英語(yǔ)的重要性，這樣，我對(duì)英語(yǔ)下了決心和產(chǎn)生了新鮮感。
對(duì)英語(yǔ)的新鮮感，老師的向?qū)�，使我覺(jué)得我或許沒(méi)有過(guò)人之資，但我有中人之資。只要我依著一定的程度，一步一步地向前進(jìn)，有一分功夫，就有一份效果。孜孜不倦，到后來(lái)總可以達(dá)到脫口而出的程度。于是，鮮話的字母誰(shuí)不會(huì)？流暢的發(fā)音誰(shuí)不會(huì)？英語(yǔ)，僅僅是用與美國(guó)人溝通，美國(guó)強(qiáng)大，我們只能先跟他們合作。中國(guó)便日益強(qiáng)大，到時(shí)候別的國(guó)家不就學(xué)習(xí)我們?nèi)A夏五千年的歷史文化嗎？現(xiàn)在我已融入英語(yǔ)，在這飛猛發(fā)展的世紀(jì)，我們都把英語(yǔ)歸納為生活的一部分。如最簡(jiǎn)單的“Good Bye”不也是英文嗎？

Speak without Fear
The biggest problem most people face in learning a new language is their own fear. They worry that they won’t say things correctly or that they will look stupid so they don’t talk at all. Don’t do this. The fastest way to learn anything is to do it – again and again until you get it right. Like anything, learning English requires practice. Don’t let a little fear stop you from getting what you want.
Use all of your Resources
Even if you study English at a language school it doesn’t mean you can’t learn outside of class. Using as many different sources, methods and tools as possible, will allow you to learn faster. There are many different ways you can improve your English, so don’t limit yourself to only one or two. The internet is a fantastic resource for virtually anything, but for the language learner it's perfect.
Surround Yourself with English
The absolute best way to learn English is to surround yourself with it. Take notes in English, put English books around your room, listen to English language radio broadcasts, watch English news, movies and television. Speak English with your friends whenever you can. The more English material that you have around you, the faster you will learn and the more likely it is that you will begin “thinking in English.” .
Listen to Native Speakers as Much as Possible
There are some good English teachers that have had to learn English as a second language before they could teach it. However, there are several reasons why many of the best schools prefer to hire native English speakers. One of the reasons is that native speakers have a natural flow to their speech that students of English should try to imitate. The closer ESL / EFL students can get to this rhythm or flow, the more convincing and comfortable they will become.
Watch English Films and Television
This is not only a fun way to learn but it is also very effective. By watching English films (especially those with English subtitles) you can expand your vocabulary and hear the flow of speech from the actors. If you listen to the news you can also hear different accents.
Listen to English Music
Music can be a very effective method of learning English. In fact, it is often used as a way of improving comprehension. The best way to learn though, is to get the lyrics (words) to the songs you are listening to and try to read them as the artist sings. There are several good internet sites where one can find the words for most songs. This way you can practice your listening and reading at the same time. And if you like to sing, fine.
Study As Often As Possible!
Only by studying things like grammar and vocabulary and doing exercises, can you really improve your knowledge of any language.
Do Exercises and Take Tests
Many people think that exercises and tests aren't much fun. However, by completing exercises and taking tests you can really improve your English. One of the best reasons for doing lots of exercises and tests is that they give you a benchmark to compare your future results with. Often, it is by comparing your score on a test you took yesterday with one you took a month or six months ago that you realize just how much you have learned. If you never test yourself, you will never know how much you are progressing. Start now by doing some of the many exercises and tests on this site, and return in a few days to see what you've learned. Keep doing this and you really will make some progress with English.
Record Yourself
Nobody likes to hear their own voice on tape but like tests, it is good to compare your tapes from time to time. You may be so impressed with the progress you are making that you may not mind the sound of your voice as much.
Listen to English
By this, we mean, speak on the phone or listen to radio broadcasts, audiobooks or CDs in English. This is different than watching the television or films because you can’t see the person that is speaking to you. Many learners of English say that speaking on the phone is one of the most difficult things that they do and the only way to improve is to practice.
