How to Develop the Students’Integrated Language Skills in Basic English Teaching
Abstract
Basic English teaching aims at developing students’ linguistic competence and integrated language skills. In order to achieve those purposes, English teachers should not only help students have a good command of linguistic knowledge, but also focus on skill training, and make students become the real controllers of English.
This thesis proposes to base on the Communicative Teaching Process, and takes examples to discuss how to develop students’ integrated language skill in basic English teaching. Basic English teaching should lay equal emphasis on four skills and develop four skills integrally while focusing on particular skills at different stages. In the first year of basic English teaching, teachers should focus on developing students’ listening and speaking skills by using the Communicative Teaching Process. In the second year, reading and writing should be paid special attention to. The Communicative Teaching Process should be also adopted for cultivating these two skills. For focusing on one skill usually leads to practice in another, teachers should set activities for students to train their integrated language skills.

摘 要
基礎英語教學的目的在于向學生傳授英語知識并且培養學生的語言綜合技能。為了實現這個目標,英語教師不僅是要幫助熟練掌握英語知識,而且還應該注重培養學生的語言能力,讓他們真正成為語言的駕馭者。
本文試圖以交際教學法為基礎,聯系實例來研究提高學生語言綜合技能的方法。教師在基礎英語教學過程中,應注重學生4種基本技能的培養并設法綜合培養學生的4種基本技能。但在不同的教學階段,教師所側重培養的技能可以不同。在基礎英語教學的第1年,教師應采用交際教學法著重培養學生聽和說的能力,第2年則重點培養學生讀和寫的能力, 交際教學法同樣適用于這兩種技能的培養。因為1種能力的訓練通常牽涉到另外1種或多種能力的訓練,所以教師應盡量設置能培養學生綜合語言技能的課堂活動。
